¿What about risk management?. Financial performance is a lag indicator. But, in the recession, we are seeing the consequences of not making strategic risk management part of BSC objectives and metrics. Risk measurements play a pervasive role in economic, political, social, and technological issues. And with growing uncertainty, you have to consider risk as a strategic issue...

I completely agree with you. As proof, note in the sub-title of my recent "Performance Management (PM)" book (and its chapter 4) that I reference "Risk" to be integrated under the PM umbrella.
